Providing specialist sexual assault and family violence programs and services, including 24 hour crisis care support, case management, therapeutic counselling, early intervention and professional education and training, we continue to grow and develop our offerings. Job Description About the Sexual Assault & Family Violence Centre We are a client-centred organisation, supporting the community throughout Barwon, Wimmera, and the South West regions, offering a range of specialist support services to people impacted by sexual and family violence, encompassing 24 hour crisis care, specialist response services, early intervention programs, Victims Assistance Program, Community Legal Services, trauma recovery programs, professional training and primary prevention initiatives. About The Role This role provides purpose by delivering intensive support to women and children experiencing or recovering from family violence in refuge and crisis accommodation. As part of a dynamic team, the Specialist Family Violence Case Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating services that ensure clients’ safe and secure transition into affordable housing. The role requires a strong understanding of the gendered and complex nature of family violence, evidence‑based risk factors, and ongoing assessment of client risk and safety, while addressing broader support needs to promote stability, wellbeing, and long‑term independence. Desired Skills and Experience About You You have a strong understanding of family violence in gendered and structural contexts, with experience in risk assessment, safety planning, crisis intervention, and case management. You understand the impact of trauma on clients and their families and work effectively in multi‑disciplinary teams. You demonstrate advocacy, collaboration, and application of theoretical frameworks, manage complex workloads, practice independently and as part of a team, and maintain accurate, confidential case notes. Key Selection Criteria Essential Qualifications and Experience Your application must address the following: A relevant graduate or postgraduate qualification in psychology, social work, or a related discipline, with relevant experience desirable. Essential Skills and Knowledge A comprehensive understanding of the issues relating to family violence with a gendered feminist, structural, individual and family context. Extensive experience in undertaking comprehensive risk assessments and risk management responses (safety planning) and crisis intervention and case management. Sound knowledge of the effect and impact of interpersonal trauma on adults, young people, children and their non‑offending families. Experience working within an integrated, multi‑disciplinary team. Demonstrated ability to advocate, liaise and practice collaboratively across complex systems. Extensive experience applying theoretical frameworks to practice. Ability to manage complex and demanding work. Ability to practice independently with a high degree of autonomy and to participate as a member of a team. Extensive experience maintaining accurate and confidential case notes. Other Commitment to the vision, values and purposes of The SAFV Centre. Commitment to continuous quality improvement and cultural equity in service delivery. Current Victorian Driver’s Licence. Referees Applicants must provide the name and current contact details of 2-3 professional referees including the most recent or current supervisor. Period of Appointment Ongoing, subject to funding. Hours of work 30.4 hours/ 4 days per week Salary and Conditions Annual salary range is $100,788.04 - $105,371.24 plus superannuation (pro rata for part time). Salary will be commensurate with experience and skills. Industrial Instrument: The Sexual Assault & Family Violence Centre Enterprise Agreement 2023. Salary Packaging: Provided via Maxxia. PBI status with other expenses available to package above this cap. The Sexual Assault & Family Violence Centre is a Public Benevolent Institution. Superannuation: The employer will also make superannuation payments on your behalf in accordance with the Superannuation Guarantee (Administration) Act 1992.
