Coulson Aviation Australia is a subsidiary of global aerial firefighting company Coulson Aviation, supporting Australian States and Emergency Service Organizations with aircraft and experienced team members. Coulson Aviation operates worldwide with a fleet of large aerial firefighting assets, including both fixed‑wing and rotary‑wing aircraft: Boeing 737 FIRELINERS™, C130 Hercules, Citation and King Air Lead Planes, CH47D Chinooks, Sikorsky UH60, S61, S76, and Bell 412 helicopters. They perform rapid aerial fire suppression missions, initial and extended attack protocols, search and rescue, and a wide array of special mission flights. Coulson Aviation Australia also operates and manages New South Wales Rural Fire Service‑owned aircraft in all aspects of maintenance, fleet support systems, and management, and operating personnel. Maintenance Supervisor (Chief Engineer) Position Summary : The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for certifying aircraft maintenance and supervising the Bell 412 & Sikorsky S70 maintenance team. RESPONSIBILITIES Lead a team of experienced, capable B412 & S70 Engineers Coordinate repair and/or maintenance tasks, both in the hangar and when aircraft is remotely situated Manage the ordering of components, materials and spares as required for maintenance tasks Ensure that work sheets, logs, tracking updates and other required records are complete and submitted in a timely manner Ensure all tools and equipment meet calibration requirements and are in good working order prior to use Manage roster, ensuring adequate coverage for maintenance activities Plan, cost, and organize the training requirements for employees to meet organizational needs Provide on‑the‑job training to employees as needed and ensure direct supervision of unlicensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (AMEs) and apprentices within your team Review and manage timecards and expense approvals accurately and to company policy Be involved in new Engineer & Apprentice onboarding & induction REQUIREMENTS Current Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) Part 66 Aircraft Engineer License, preferably without exclusions 5 years’ experience in a supervisory capacity Minimum of 3 years’ maintenance experience on B412 or S70 (or equivalent type) helicopters Experience and willingness to train AMEs and apprentices Advanced technical writing skills Communicate effectively Exercises good judgment and makes effective, sound, timely, and informed decisions Currently hold or can obtain a Red ASIC card and/or RAAF passes We would like to thank all applicants in advance for their interest; however, we can only consider applicants that are an Australian resident and are legally eligible to work in Australia.
