MIFWA (Mental Illness Fellowship Of WA) – Midland WA MIFWA is launching a new psychology service designed to sit alongside our long-established, peer‑led mental health programs. We’re looking for our first Clinical Psychologist, someone who wants more than a caseload and is ready to help build something meaningful from the ground up. For the right person, this role offers real influence, autonomy, and future leadership as the service grows. This is not a standard clinical role. This is a founding opportunity. What makes this role different As our founding psychologist, you will: Co-design a brand-new psychology service within a respected, values‑driven organisation Influence models of care, clinical pathways, and service design Work alongside experienced peer workers and multidisciplinary teams to deliver truly holistic support Help shape how psychology is embedded within community mental health, not siloed or transactional Play a key role in the future growth of the service, with scope for clinical leadership, supervision, or service lead pathways This is a rare opportunity to leave your fingerprint on a service, not inherit someone else’s system. What’s on offer $135,000–$155,000 (pro rata) + Super Up to $15,900 tax‑free salary packaging (NFP benefit) Flexible work options – Midland base with telehealth available Full‑time or part‑time arrangements considered Paid AHPRA registration Funded external supervision and professional development A 12‑month contract with strong intent for permanency A leadership team that actively invites ideas, challenge, and innovation The work you’ll do Deliver high-quality psychological assessment and therapy Support individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, and complex life stressors Apply trauma‑informed, recovery‑oriented, evidence‑based approaches Collaborate closely with peer workers, families, and internal programs Contribute to service evaluation, learning, and continuous improvement About the service model This role operates within a Medicare Better Access framework. Like any sustainable clinical service, there are clear (and reasonable) expectations around clinical contribution. As our founding psychologist, you will help shape how these expectations are defined, balancing quality, clinician wellbeing, and service viability from the outset. This role will suit you if You are a Clinical Psychologist who: Is AHPRA-registered and Medicare-eligible Has 3+ years’ post‑registration experience Is confident clinically and curious systemically Enjoys building, shaping, and improving services Values autonomy and accountability Wants to do meaningful work without sacrificing sustainability Why MIFWA We’re not a traditional mental health service, and we’re not trying to be.
