The Westmead Research Hub is a collaborative partnership of leading medical research organisations located at Westmead, working together to advance health and medical science through shared expertise, infrastructure, and strategic initiatives. This unique model enables researchers to tackle complex health challenges with greater impact, while contributing to one of Australia’s most significant centres of scientific discovery. About CMRI This role will be hosted by Children’s Medical Research Institute (CMRI). CMRI was Australia’s first dedicated paediatric research facility and is now one of the world’s most highly regarded independent medical research organisations. Our research focuses on the four key areas impacting children’s health: cancer, genomics and genetic diseases, neurobiology, and embryology. Work with a team of dedicated professionals We are looking for a Communications and Admin Officer to join our team to: Provide secretarial and administrative support, including preparation for and coordination of formal committee meetings. Assist in the planning and delivery of internal and external events. Support the development and dissemination of internal and external communications. Contribute to the smooth operation of day-to-day activities and team admin duties. Support the development and execution of marketing campaigns to promote events, initiatives, and organisational updates. What can you bring to this role Demonstrated experience in a comparable role, ideally 2–3 years. Clear and open communication and interpersonal skills. Experience in event coordination and operational support. Proficiency in Office365, particularly Word and Excel, and experience with online platforms such as Canva, Humanitix or similar. A proactive approach that demonstrates initiative. A willingness to learn, adapt and problem-solve independently. High attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work.
