Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Engagement Advisor Knowmore Legal Service is seeking a female Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Engagement Advisor for our Sydney Office. About Knowmore Legal Service Knowmore provides free legal information, advice, representation and referrals, financial counselling and support for survivors of child sexual abuse through the National Redress Scheme and the Territories Stolen Generations Redress Scheme. Last year, 46% of people contacting us were First Nations People; we aim to deliver a culturally safe service by employing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Engagement Advisors to support survivors and work closely with a multidisciplinary team. About the role This is a female Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander position. Applicants must identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander. Provide direct support to First Nations survivors as they navigate legal pathways to redress. Work as part of a multidisciplinary team (social workers, lawyers, financial counsellors) to support survivors through the process. Participate in projects, community education activities and initiatives to achieve systemic reforms that benefit First Nations people. Work from the Sydney office with occasional intra‑state and some interstate travel; a current driver’s licence and willingness to travel up to a week to remote communities are highly desirable.
