The Opportunity We are seeking a talented Industrial Designer/Product Designer to join our dynamic team in Toowoomba. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with the design team to deliver custom projects. Translate client requirements into practical, effective solutions. Create and maintain detailed 3D models, technical drawings, and specifications using SolidWorks. Develop and implement testing protocols to validate designs against performance and industry standards. Oversee the transition from design to manufacturing, working closely with production teams to optimise processes and resolve technical issues. Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product performance, reduce costs, and improve manufacturing efficiencies. Manage project timelines, liaising with sales, manufacturing, and suppliers. What You’ll Bring A minimum of 3 years of experience in product engineering. A mechanical or related engineering/design degree is a plus. Hands‑on experience in workshop, industrial, or personal project settings (e.g., fabrication, metalwork, carpentry). Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail. Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar CAD software, with expertise in 3D modelling and technical drawing creation. Knowledge of metal fabrication; experience in 3D printing or additive manufacturing is a bonus. Excellent communication and time‑management skills. A collaborative mindset with the ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities. An understanding of electrical or mechatronics principles is advantageous. Why Coldshield?
