Community Engagement Officer - Events (Part-time) Fairholme College is one of Australia's leading independent girls' schools with approximately 900 students from Kindy to Year 12. Position Description POSITION: Community Engagement Officer – Events. RESPONSIBLE TO: Business Manager through Head of Community Engagement. REPORTS TO: Head of Community Engagement. KEY FUNCTIONAL RELATIONSHIPS: Staff, Parents, Community Members. Position Purpose The Events Officer plays a key role in planning, coordinating, and delivering high-quality events that reflect Fairholme College’s values and foster community engagement. This role is part of the Community Engagement team, which oversees all College marketing, communications, events, and engagement activities to support the College’s strategic direction. It includes the implementation and management of College event sponsorship programs to enhance community partnerships and support event success. This position is 38 hours per week during term time, approximately 40 weeks per annum. Key Responsibilities Event Planning and Coordination Execute College event plans including working to timelines, budgets, and logistics requirements; Liaise with internal and external stakeholders and vendors to ensure successful event delivery; Ensure all events align with the College’s brand, values, and restorative practices. Sponsorship Program Management Manage event sponsorship programs to support College events; Identify and engage potential sponsors, ensuring alignment with College values; Maintain sponsor relationships and deliver agreed benefits and recognition. Stakeholder Engagement Collaborate with staff, students, parents, and alumni to deliver College functions and events; Build strong relationships with community partners, sponsors, and service providers. Marketing and Communications Work within the Community Engagement team to assist in event promotion; Contribute to the preparation of event materials including invitations, programs, signage and collateral. Compliance and Risk Management Ensure all events comply with child safety, WHS, and College policies; Conduct risk assessments and manage contingency planning. Required Skills Qualifications in event management or related field desirable but not essential; Proven experience in event management, preferably in an educational or community setting; Experience in sponsorship acquisition and relationship management; Strong organisational and project management skills; Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities; Ability to work collaboratively and respectfully within a school environment; Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (preferred, but not essential); Flexibility to work at events outside of standard business hours required.
