Railway Signalling Engineer You will provide technical and engineering expertise across a range of projects, working closely with internal teams. As the technical contact for clients, you will discuss and analyze requirements and use your knowledge of safety systems to provide appropriate solutions. Responsibilities Designs, develops, and supervises the manufacture, installation, operation, and maintenance of railway signalling and control systems. Plans and designs electrical components for rail signalling systems, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards. Determines the type and arrangement of circuits, transformers, circuit breakers, and other electrical components used in railway applications. Develops products such as signalling equipment, safety systems, and electrical components for rail networks. Interprets specifications, drawings, standards, and regulations relating to electrical railway equipment and infrastructure. Organizes and manages resources for the installation, maintenance, and operation of railway signalling systems. Establishes delivery and installation schedules for electrical and signalling components. Supervises the operation and maintenance of railway electrical and control systems, ensuring optimal performance and safety. Designs and installs control and signalling equipment for railway networks, ensuring safe and efficient train movement. May specialize in research and development of railway safety and automation systems, including telemetry, control systems, and power transmission. Skills & Experience Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical engineering and systems design. Engineering degree. Specialized technical knowledge in safety systems, signalling plans and applications, and computer-based interlocking. Experience in design, testing, and commissioning of railway electrical and signalling systems. Knowledge of Australian standards, ARTC regulations, and railway electrical safety protocols.
