East Metropolitan Health Service (EMHS) is recruiting a Consultant – Physician (General Medicine) for a recruitment pool that may include permanent, fixed‑term, part‑time, full‑time and casual appointments, with potential extensions or transitions to permanent status. Positions will be considered through January 31, 2027. Position Profile The Consultant – Physician (General Medicine) leads the multidisciplinary team to provide specialist medical services in the Home Hospital Department, promotes patient safety and quality of care, and provides leadership, orientation, training, supervision and education for doctors in training and other health workers. In collaboration with the General Medicine Lead and other Consultants, the role works to achieve national, state and EMHS performance standards and targets, while operating within the scope of clinical practice as defined by the EMHS Area Medical Credentialing Committee. Eligibility: Australian citizenship or permanent residency is essential for permanent appointments; fixed‑term appointments require documentary evidence of entitlement to live and work in Australia for the contract period.
