About The Role We are seeking a part-time First Nations Student Support Officer. Your role will be to ensure that our Indigenous students are able to strengthen and celebrate their cultural identity. You will have strong cultural awareness and strong communication skills. You Will Be Responsible For Acting as a support person, mentor and advocate for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students Mentoring, supporting, and monitoring young Indigenous students to help them become independent learners Providing pastoral support to Indigenous students, including their initial orientation and ongoing cultural and personal development Celebrating significant cultural activities and events including arranging guest speakers and performers. You Will Have A Certificate III in Education Support / Youth Support Worker or relevant work experience An understanding of diverse cultural protocols and challenges faced by Indigenous students, families, and communities as they transition between community and boarding school The ability to support the learning of Indigenous students through the implementation of culturally appropriate curriculum resources. The ability to provide culturally appropriate pastoral care to Indigenous students. Your Application Please address your application to the Principal and include a cover letter and resume.
