Financial Crime Product Compliance & Risk Senior Manager - AU/NZ Wise is a global technology company that builds the best way for people and businesses to move and manage money worldwide. The Financial Crime Product Compliance & Risk Senior Manager role is a hands‑on, first‑line of defense position embedded in the APAC Product squad, focused on Australia and New Zealand. Salary 166,000 – 220,000 AUD per annum + RSUs + Super Your Mission Enable the APAC Product team to launch new products, grow our presence, and manage compliance risks in AU/NZ through a deep understanding of financial crime requirements and regulator expectations. Responsibilities Deeply understand Wise product and regulatory FinCrime needs in AU/NZ, support Product and other teams on interpreting FinCrime regulatory requirements and improving processes, controls, and product accordingly. Perform FinCrime risk assessments of new products and services, ensuring related controls are implemented consistently prior to launch. Enable Product teams to adopt a risk‑based approach in developing products, processes, and controls. Financial Crime Risk Management Stay ahead of FinCrime trends and the regulatory agenda in AU/NZ. Identify and align with risk owners and second line of defense on the main FinCrime risks and issues in AU/NZ. Present this in a clear and understandable way to wider teams and work collaboratively to define and execute mitigation plans. Regulatory Change and Remediation Conduct regulatory gap analyses, define and scope required actions to remediate gaps, and take ownership of ensuring implementation plans are executed in a timely manner. Leverage program synergies across the Wise Group to maximise consistency and scalability. Audit Management Manage audits and challenge findings in collaboration with Product and second line of defense Risk and Compliance teams. Develop remediation plans and ensure they are agreed upon and executed promptly. This Role Will Give You the Opportunity To Grow your hands‑on FinTech knowledge at full speed. Build state‑of‑the‑art products that are compliant for our customers and regulators. Work together with all our amazing teams both locally and globally. Own and shape Wise’s FinCrime risk management program in AU/NZ. Qualifications Expert in FinCrime compliance and risk management, with a strong background in AU/NZ regulation. Owner mindset, driving projects from inception to completion with attention to detail. Strong communicator, interacting with Product, Engineering, auditors, and regulators (AUSTRAC). Problem‑solving attitude, analysing complex regulatory frameworks and applying data to drive actionable decisions. Team player with collaborative spirit, working effectively with Product, Risk, and Compliance stakeholders. Ability to prioritise effectively and call‑out key improvement areas. Legally authorised to work in Australia. Nice to Have but Not Essential Experience in FinTech or a fast‑paced environment. Willingness to travel; Wise offices are located across different countries.
