Solutions Engineer

Overview We are seeking an experienced Solutions Engineer – Microsoft 365 to lead and support large‑scale tenant migration activities across Entra ID, Microsoft 365 and Azure services. You will guide migration planning, validate transitional approaches, oversee technical execution, and ensure alignment with established architectural patterns. Working closely with Modern Workplace, Architecture, and Azure teams, you will help ensure stable, secure, and successful tenant‑to‑tenant transitions. Essential Criteria Extensive experience (7+ years) supporting and operating large‑scale Microsoft 365 environments, including tenant migration or separation projects. Expertise in M365 tenant migrations (identity cutovers, mailbox moves, Teams rehoming, SharePoint reconfiguration, conditional access updates). Expertise in Entra ID, Entra Connect, identity synchronisation, Azure Services, and M365 Applications. Expertise in Active Directory, identity design, application integration, and enterprise‑scale collaboration services. Ability to analyse business requirements, validate technical approaches, and create high‑quality solution designs, diagrams, and technical documentation. Demonstrated capability to solve complex technical problems and deliver innovative, stable solutions within agreed timeframes. Experience producing transitional architecture and modelling current, interim and target states. Strong communication skills with the ability to influence, negotiate, and consult effectively with technical stakeholders, business owners and cross‑functional teams. Proven track record of building productive working relationships and delivering results in enterprise environments. Demonstrated personal accountability, integrity, and commitment to continuous improvement. Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related discipline (or equivalent experience). Relevant Microsoft certifications (e.g., Identity & Access Administrator, Entra, M365). Experience within Queensland Government or Australian Government ICT environments, including knowledge of relevant standards, security frameworks and governance requirements. Background in tenant separation, merger or uplift projects involving cross‑tenant collaboration and application dependency assessment. Ability to oversee quality reviews and ensure solutions remain fit for purpose, secure, and aligned with endorsed design baselines. Willingness to work outside standard hours (evenings, weekends, public holidays) as required during key migration events. Desirable Criteria Relevant Microsoft certifications (e.g., Identity & Access Administrator, Entra, M365).
