We have regular vacancies in the Toowoomba / Darling Downs region for experienced Civil Roadworks Inspectors interested in joining us & committing to at least 1 - 2 years extension options. The purpose of these roles is to inspect the construction of roadworks projects to Transport and Main Roads' (DTMR) quality specifications & standards. Responsibilities Use comprehensive knowledge of TMR policies, standards and specifications and be able to read, understand and interpret technical documents & standards. Prepare written documents including daily diary, submissions/reports & test results. Communicate with the Contractor and/or Contract Administrators, Senior Engineers or Principal Representatives and keep them informed of progress and quality of works. Provide effective administration, surveillance and recording of documentation generated during the construction including photos. Mandatory Experience The person applying for these roles must have a minimum of 5-10 years' extensive practical experience as a labourer, foreman &/or Supervisor in road construction and at least 1-2 years as an Asphalt or Civil Inspector working for preferably DTMR or any Australian Road Authority. Qualifications & Skills Computer skills in Microsoft Windows operating system, MS Word, MS Excel, file management, smart phone, camera, daily diaries and email. Must have a driver's licence and have access to own transport to/from home to the Toowoomba Office & out to site. Preference for own laptop & mobile phone. Ideally the person will already be living in Toowoomba or SEQLD &/or willing to relocate there, however we will consider alternatives. We have comfortable accommodation already set up Monday to Friday for those wishing to DIDO. The proposed hours are nominally 40 per week & mainly day shift rosters, although no guarantee there won't be more or less hours due to project demands. The role is based out of Toowoomba & inspections all around the region. You must have the right to Work in Australia.
