About the role Casual with the option for full-time for the ideal candidate. As a FOH Supervisor of the Boundary Island Brewery, you will play a crucial role in the daily operations of our front-of-house. You will lead by example, providing guidance and support to our team to ensure exceptional customer service and smooth bar and restaurant operations. You will be responsible for supervising staff, coordinating floor activities, opening & closing procedures and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and efficiency in the FOH Area. Supervision and Leadership Lead and motivate front-of-house staff to deliver outstanding customer service and exceed guest expectations. Provide training, guidance, and ongoing support to ensure staff members are equipped with the skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively. Attend regular supervisor meetings and training sessions to communicate expectations, share updates, assist with policy and procedures developments and updates, and address any issues or concerns. Foster a positive work environment by promoting teamwork, respect, and open communication among staff members. Recognize and reward exceptional performance and address any performance issues or disciplinary matters in a fair and constructive manner. Customer Service Ensure guests receive a warm welcome and personalized attention upon arrival, addressing any inquiries or special requests promptly and professionally and ensuring guests are farewelled in a positive and genuine manner. Monitor service standards to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance the overall dining experience. Address any guest grievances or feedback in a genuine and caring manner to ensure a positive outcome for both the guests and the venue. Coordinate floor activities, including seating arrangements, table allocations and guest flow, to optimize efficiency and maximize revenue. Oversee the reservation system, ensuring accurate bookings and timely communication with guests regarding availability and special requests. Monitor table turnover and wait times, adjusting staffing levels and procedures as needed to maintain smooth operations during peak periods. Quality Control and Compliance Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and standards of service, including hygiene, safety, and RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) regulations. Conduct regular inspections of the dining area, bar, play area and restrooms to ensure cleanliness, organization, and compliance with health and safety standards. Daily Operations Oversee the proper opening of the venue, including set up of bar and floor, unlocking of all areas, setting up tills and ensuring daily specials and up to date, both on the POS as well as signage, writing up shift run sheets and allocating tasks. Oversee the proper closing of the premises, including securing all areas, turning off equipment, and locking doors/windows to ensure safety and security. Responsible for cash handling procedures, including till reconciliation, to accurately account for all transactions and maintain financial integrity. Adjust shift rosters, including finding cover for no shows, extending or reducing shifts as necessary, to meet changing daily requirements. Qualifications and Skills Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role within the hospitality industry. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team. Strong organizational and time management abilities, with the capacity to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively. Sound knowledge of restaurant operations, including front-of-house procedures, customer service principles, and compliance requirements. Proficiency in computer applications, such as POS systems and Microsoft Office suite. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required. #J-18808-Ljbffr
