The Haematology Department located in Randwick is seeking an enthusiastic hard‑working person to join our friendly team to be a Medical Laboratory Scientist on a permanent full‑time capacity. Located in the Prince of Wales hospital with public transport available direct to the hospital by bus or light rail from Central Station and is in close proximity to many cafes/ restaurants and UNSW which has a gym, library and swimming pool. Apply now by addressing the following questions: Bachelor Degree or higher degree in Science/Medical Laboratory Science or an equivalent qualification, with subjects relevant to Haematology from a recognised tertiary institution Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the delivery of pathology services relevant to Haematology including (but not limited to) Morphology and Flow cytometry Proven experience in the use of Laboratory Information Systems, Patient Systems, Quality Control Systems and Middleware programmes Customer focused approach with strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills including report writing skills, statistical evaluation of scientific data and the ability to effectively communicate with customers, patients, clinical and laboratory staff Ability to participate in a rotating 24/7 shift roster which includes out‑of‑hours, weekends and on‑call shifts Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team, managing competing priorities to meet deadlines in an efficient manner Display initiative, problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to apply established principles and to investigate and resolve general and complex issues within the laboratory environment Sound understanding of legislation, policies and requirements that impact the laboratory environment including work health and safety, privacy and quality management Need more information? 1) Click here for the Position Description2) Find out more about applying for this positionFor role related queries or questions contact Crystal Pau on Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination Against Specified Infectious Diseases This is a Category A position.
