Base pay range A$250,000.00/yr - A$250,000.00/yr Up to Executive Level Permanent Full-Time Sydney Altitude Recruitment is partnering with a leading national consultancy to appoint a Principal Director – Digital Experience — a pivotal executive role leading the design, architecture and delivery of world‑class digital customer experiences. If you are a technology‑led digital leader with deep engineering, architecture and delivery expertise across web, mobile and digital platforms, this is an opportunity to shape the future of customer experiences across some of Australia’s most iconic organisations. The Opportunity As Principal Director – Digital Experience, you will: Lead the solutioning, architecture and technical delivery of digital products and customer experiences across mobile apps, web applications, portals and CMS‑driven solutions. Bring together design, technology and business to create scalable, robust and innovative digital experiences. Lead and develop a multi‑disciplinary Engineering Delivery function comprising software engineers (web/mobile/backend), solution architects, DevOps, testers, integration specialists and martech engineers. Own the technical solution design—including functional and non‑functional architecture, integration patterns, cloud, identity, security, data and platform considerations. Partner with internal and external stakeholders to shape digital roadmaps, define solution approaches, run workshops and influence strategic decision‑making. Ensure delivery excellence through technical assurance, quality frameworks, best practice engineering and continuous improvement. Provide subject matter expertise in digital engineering, architecture and customer technology solutions. Support business development activities with thought leadership, solution architecture, estimates and proposal input. About You You are an accomplished digital technology leader with the ability to operate hands‑on when required. You combine strong engineering depth with commercial and consulting capability. You are comfortable leading high‑performing teams and shaping digital products from ideation through to execution. You bring: Deep Technical Capability Strong understanding of modern engineering practices, CI/CD, DevOps, cloud infrastructure and integration patterns. Experience designing end‑to‑end technical solutions across CRM, identity management, middleware, APIs, datalakes and enterprise platforms. Leadership & Delivery Excellence Experience leading cross‑functional engineering teams (web, mobile, devops, QA, architects). Proven ability to deliver at scale using Agile and hybrid‑agile methodologies. Ability to drive quality engineering standards and mature delivery practices. Consulting, Communication & Stakeholder Influence Ability to simplify complexity, facilitate workshops and engage senior stakeholders. Experience creating and communicating architectural approaches, roadmaps and delivery plans. Additional Credentials Experience within financial services is highly advantageous. Tertiary qualifications in technology, engineering, computer science or a related discipline. Why This Role?
