About The Role The Science Technician plays a vital role in supporting the school's science department by ensuring the smooth operation of laboratories and resources. This role involves technical and administrative tasks that contribute to effective teaching and learning outcomes. Key Responsibilities Include Preparing, distributing, and setting up scientific materials and equipment for practical teaching laboratory use. Maintaining a safe and organised environment in science classrooms, storerooms, and laboratories. Safely managing chemical hazards and laboratory waste in compliance with departmental guidelines. Providing quality advice to science teaching staff on technical components of the curriculum, including STEM initiatives. Assisting with field trip preparations, record keeping, and inventory management. About You The following traits would be beneficial: Experience working in a laboratory or similar technical environment. Strong organisational and time management skills. Knowledge of chemical handling and safety procedures. Ability to work independently and anticipate needs within a science department. Interest in promoting STEM initiatives and engaging students in science pathways.
