Functions Duty Manager

Well-Known Hospitality Venue | Stunning Golf Course Location | Hands-On Events Role Ambrose Estate is a busy, award-winning venue located on the beautiful Wembley Golf Course, featuring a modern restaurant and a spacious function centre that hosts weddings, corporate events, seminars and golf days. We are looking for a reliable and experienced Functions Duty Manager to take the lead on all events held at the venue. This role is hands‑on and focused on floor operations — perfect for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and enjoys being involved in the action. You will work closely with the Events Manager and play a key role in ensuring every event runs smoothly from set‑up to pack‑down. What You'll Be Doing Overseeing and running all functions, including weddings, corporate events and social gatherings Coordinating room set‑ups and pack‑downs Leading and supporting the FOH team during events Delivering staff briefings and providing guidance during service Liaising with the kitchen and operations teams to ensure smooth event flow Assisting with restaurant operations during the quieter events season Maintaining clear and accurate communication about bookings and event details What We're Looking For A minimum of 1-2 years' experience in functions/events at Supervisor or Duty Manager level Proven experience managing both weddings or corporate events Confident leading a team and coordinating busy event operations Demonstrated experience managing teams of 5 or more staff members Strong communication and organisational skills Hands‑on, energetic and happy to support the team wherever needed Availability to work weekends and late nights Someone who enjoys creating memorable experiences for guests What We Offer A vibrant team environment Free staff meals Free parking on‑site Beautiful workplace on a peaceful golf course Opportunity to work across a variety of exciting events year‑round Applicants must have full working rights in Australia and hold a current Approved Manager's Card (or be willing to obtain one prior to commencement).
