Job Title Unaccredited Trainee – General Medicine (Northern Beaches Hospital) Location Frenchs Forest, New South Wales, Australia Overview An exciting opportunity to join the General Medicine team at the Northern Beaches Hospital. The Unaccredited Trainee will undertake rotations in medical wards, MAU, relief and afterhours medical ward cover, participating in a 24/7 shift roster. The primary clinical responsibility will be the provision of day‑to‑day patient management, with a focus on quality, safety and patient flow. Responsibilities Provide effective clinical management of patients under appropriate supervision, including assessment, treatment decisions and maintaining adequate medical records. Perform procedures and develop expertise in medical practice within a complex clinical environment. Supervised general medical management of patients admitted to specialist departments. Participate in ward cover during afterhours and on the 24/7 shift roster. Qualifications and Experience Qualifications and experience commensurate with the Essential Requirements for the role. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multi‑disciplinary team in the planning, delivery and coordination of patient care. High level communication skills, able to convey and adapt information to clinical and non‑clinical audiences. Strong organisational and time‑management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a complex environment. High level independent clinical skills and judgement, with the ability to make sound decisions and problem‑solve while recognising limitations and learning independently. Understanding and promotion of collaborative effort and empathy within a heterogeneous team environment. Excellent academic record commensurate with experience, evidence of ongoing learning and potential teaching activities; involvement with projects and research publications preferred.
