Council of the City of Sydney, Österreich The Scots College Vollzeit

The Heart of the Role The History Teacher plays a pivotal role in helping boys understand the forces that have shaped our world — inspiring curiosity, critical thought, and a deep appreciation for humanity’s complex story. Through engaging, evidence‑based teaching you bring the past to life, encouraging students to question, analyse, and connect historical ideas to their present and future. You deliver high‑quality programs across Years 7–12, including Stage 6 Modern History, cultivating a classroom environment that values rigour, respect and open inquiry where every boy is challenged to think deeply and express his understanding with clarity and confidence. This is a permanent full‑time position offering the opportunity to contribute to a faculty renowned for academic excellence, collaborative spirit and Christian character. Who are you? You are a passionate and skilled History educator who brings depth, enthusiasm and perspective to your teaching. You hold recognised teaching qualifications and registration with NESA, with experience and demonstrated success in teaching Stage 6 Modern History. You bring expertise in curriculum design, assessment and the use of inquiry‑based learning to foster engagement and critical thinking. You are committed to designing lessons that are inclusive, thought‑provoking and connected to real‑world contexts. You collaborate closely with colleagues, sharing ideas and resources to enrich the learning experience for all students. You communicate with care and professionalism, building strong relationships with students, families and peers. You bring an authentic Christian faith that shapes your approach to teaching, relationships and service. Where do you fit in? You are energised by the opportunity to serve within a Christian, Presbyterian GPS school committed to excellence in boys’ education. You thrive in a collegial, intellectually rich environment that values curiosity, evidence and respect for differing viewpoints. You are motivated by purpose — helping students understand the past so they can think critically about the present and act wisely for the future. You see your role as both educator and mentor — guiding boys to become thoughtful, informed and compassionate citizens. How do you serve others? You design and deliver engaging, well‑structured History lessons that foster historical thinking, analysis and interpretation. You use assessment and feedback to promote continual learning and improvement. You support students’ wellbeing and engagement through pastoral care and active participation in the life of the College. You contribute to co‑curricular programmes and College events, modelling Christian character and community spirit. You collaborate with colleagues to refine curriculum, share best practice and uphold high standards of scholarship. What do we offer? An opportunity to be part of a team committed to nurturing fine young men of faith, character and purpose. A dynamic and supportive environment where academic excellence, intellectual inquiry and faith are integrated and celebrated. Access to professional development opportunities that encourage continual growth and reflective practice. Access to a range of staff benefits, including: Free barista coffee and lunches Employee Assistance Program Access to The Scots College transport system Medical services and on‑campus gym Salary packaging options The Scots College reserves the right not to proceed with any appointment. #J-18808-Ljbffr
