Primary Classroom Teacher (time fraction negotiable) - Victoria Public School Jobs - Victoria Dept of Education Careers – Werribee VIC The time fraction/days worked for this position are negotiable with the School Principal Westgrove Primary School, established in 1995, is located within the City of Wyndham on the traditional lands of the Bunurong People. The school currently has approximately 500 students enrolled across 24 classes, with a diverse student population: 42% from disadvantaged backgrounds, 38% EAL, 3% Aboriginal, and several in Out of Home Care. Role The classroom teacher is responsible for planning, preparing, and delivering programs to achieve specific student outcomes, and for engaging in critical reflection and inquiry to improve knowledge and skills. Classroom teachers may also be required to undertake additional duties appropriate to their salary range, qualifications, training, and experience. Selection Criteria SC1 – Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum, ability to incorporate literacy and numeracy skills, and experience responding to student learning needs. SC2 – Demonstrated experience planning and implementing high‑impact teaching strategies, guided by student learning styles, and evaluating the impact of learning and teaching programs on student growth. SC3 – Demonstrated experience monitoring and assessing student learning, using data to inform practice, and providing feedback to students and parents. SC4 – Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills and experience establishing collaborative relationships with students, parents, colleagues and the wider community. SC5 – Demonstrated behaviours and attitudes consistent with Department values and engagement in professional learning. Responsibilities Direct teaching of groups or individual students. Contributing to the development, implementation and evaluation of curriculum areas or programmes within the school. Undertaking other classroom teaching and organisational duties as determined by the School Principal. Participating in parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps, excursions, and other school activities. Performing non‑teaching supervisory duties as required.
