About the role As a Senior Treatment Process Operator , you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our desalination plant. You’ll be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and optimising the reverse osmosis and associated treatment processes that convert seawater into high-quality drinking water. Working both independently and as part of a skilled team, you’ll oversee daily plant operations, conduct water quality testing, troubleshoot equipment issues, and ensure compliance with environmental and safety standards. This hands‑on role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering reliable water services to the community. What you can expect with this role Operate and monitor desalination processes (RO/UF and associated systems) in compliance with water quality and production targets Conduct routine inspections, testing, and adjustments to optimise plant performance. Perform planned maintenance, troubleshooting of pumps, valves, membranes, instrumentation, and supporting equipment. Conduct water samples to ensure compliance within water quality standards. Maintain accurate records of operational data, maintenance activities, and safety checks. Respond to alarms, troubleshoot issues, and perform corrective actions. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the plant and surrounding areas. Collaborate with other operators and technical staff to optimise plant performance. Your skills and experience Experience in complex process plant operation, ideally in desalination, water treatment, or similar industries. Essential Certificate III or IV in Water Industry Operations (or equivalent) desirable Strong understanding of water quality standards and environmental regulations Ability to interpret P&IDs, technical drawings, and SCADA systems. Ability to work independently and as part of a team Good problem‑solving and mechanical aptitude Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting Sound like a match?
