About You We seek a Learning Support Officer who will strive to meet the needs of an individual high needs student. We welcome applications from experienced LSOs who : have a knowledge of and commitment to the Mission of the Catholic School demonstrate a high standard of proficiency, competency and enthusiasm are passionate about working with children, families and colleagues in a caring Christ‑centred community possess strong interpersonal and organisational skills demonstrate the capacity to work as a member of a team, in strategic collaboration with teachers, counsellors, and specialist staff as needed articulate a deep understanding of the role of an LSO in a contemporary learning environment have the ability to focus on continuous improvement are organised, supportive and resourceful are willing to be involved in the school’s co‑curricular activities have a certificate III or IV in Education Support (or similar) — an advantage have a current WWCC provide in‑class learning support to students with diverse academic, behavioural, and social needs under the direction of the classroom teacher and in line with adjustments documented in Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) differentiate and adapt learning activities, offering scaffolds, prompts, and one‑to‑one or small‑group assistance to help students access the curriculum assist with behaviour regulation, implementing positive behaviour strategies, reinforcement routines, and de‑escalation techniques as guided by school frameworks supervise students safely during learning activities, movement around the school, playground duties, excursions, and other school events monitor and record student progress, behaviour observations, and adjustments, providing feedback to teachers and the Diverse Learning team maintain confidentiality and uphold student dignity, following legislative and school policies regarding privacy and student wellbeing.
