The Opportunity We're seeking a dedicated IT Support Specialist to join our dynamic team and help maintain reliable, secure IT systems for clients across corporate, telecommunications, and government sectors. This hands‑on role combines technical expertise with problem‑solving skills to ensure seamless system operations and exceptional service delivery. You’ll work with modern infrastructure technologies, from virtualisation platforms to cloud services, while ensuring all support activities align with our quality management system and maintain the high standards of service reliability that our clients expect. What You’ll Be Doing System Administration Install and maintain server infrastructure across client environments Manage virtualisation platforms (VMware, Proxmox) Administer Windows and Linux systems Configure and monitor backup systems Implement system upgrades with minimal disruption Manage user accounts and access controls Configure email systems and maintain documentation Monitor system performance and capacity Infrastructure Management Monitor network services and system alerts Manage storage solutions and disaster recovery implementations Configure cloud services across hybrid environments Maintain system security and optimise infrastructure Track hardware inventory and execute maintenance tasks Ensure system availability and reliability Support infrastructure expansion and improvements Security Administration Implement and monitor security policies and procedures Manage security tools and perform system audits Configure firewalls and control access Respond to security incidents and threats Document security procedures and follow protocols Maintain security compliance across systems Support security assessments and improvements Technical Support Resolve user issues and handle service requests efficiently Document solutions and provide system guidance Train users on system functions and best practices Support disaster recovery testing and system implementations Communicate effectively with stakeholders across all business levels Provide timely updates and ensure customer satisfaction Assist with technical projects and system deployments What You’ll Bring Minimum 2 years of experience in an IT support or systems administration role Strong experience supporting Windows environments Knowledge of operating system deployment and management Understanding of system and network management principles Solid grasp of information security fundamentals Strong problem‑solving abilities and analytical thinking Excellent communication and documentation skills Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities Willingness to travel domestically for client site visits Highly Desirable Experience with virtualisation platforms (VMware, Proxmox) Knowledge of Office 365 administration and configuration Experience with mobile device management and support Exposure to Linux system administration Understanding of ITIL principles and quality management systems Experience in customer‑facing technical roles Relevant technical certifications What We Offer Opportunity to work with diverse technologies and interesting challenges Professional development support and mentoring Collaborative team environment with supportive, and friendly workplace culture Modern office facilities in Mawson Lakes with regular work from home days Travel opportunities across Australia and Pacific Islands Work on solutions that make a real impact on communities and businesses Ready to Support Digital Connection?
