We are seeking a compassionate, motivated, and client-focused Disability Intake Officer to join our growing team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for new participants, families, and support coordinators—providing guidance, information, and support throughout the intake and onboarding process with professionalism and care. What You Will Bring Excellent communication skills and a genuine capacity for empathy. Strong understanding of disability services and the NDIS framework. Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information responsibly. High-level organisational skills and accurate data-entry capability. Demonstrated experience (minimum 1–2 years) in disability or community services. Police Check (mandatory for this role). High level of interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence. Strong emotional resilience, including the ability to support clients in distress or crisis. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage competing priorities. Capacity to establish professional boundaries with clients, families, and stakeholders. Ability to adapt communication style to diverse groups and shifting needs. Experience using client information systems, including intake documentation and data collection. Awareness of risk assessment principles and risk management. Advanced computer literacy and administrative capability. Transferable sector knowledge related to disability, advocacy, or community support. Qualifications A minimum of Certificate IV in one of the following (or equivalent): Mental Health Community Services Youth Work Diploma in Counselling OR relevant tertiary qualifications in a related field and/or equivalent experience working within disability, health, or community services. Key Responsibilities Initial Enquiries & Intake Respond to enquiries from potential participants, families, carers, and support coordinators. Collect intake information including disability details, support needs, and eligibility criteria. Conduct conflict checks, eligibility screening, and needs assessments for new referrals. NDIS Eligibility & Support Guide individuals through the NDIS access pathway and eligibility requirements.
