Medical Scientist - Microbiology (Grade 1 or 2) Royal Melbourne Hospital Part Time Ongoing position 56 hours per fortnight 24/7 roster We are looking for a passionate and dedicated individual to join our Microbiology team, working across a 24/7 roster. This permanent Part-Time position (56 hours per fortnight) offers the opportunity to work in a busy, supportive laboratory with the possibility of increased hours in the future. Our Microbiology service supports patient care across RMH City Campus, Royal Park Campus and Melbourne Private Hospital, providing testing in bacteriology, serology, molecular microbiology and more. Your opportunity Participate in weekday, weekend, evening and night shift rosters Work across all areas of the Microbiology Department, including bacteriology, serology and molecular biology Contribute to the delivery of accurate, timely diagnostic results Support quality assurance, continuous improvement and new test development Maintain patient confidentiality and a strong customer focus About you Experience in a clinical diagnostic Microbiology laboratory Experience in Molecular Microbiology (desirable) Recognised scientific training with knowledge of diagnostic methods, quality systems and laboratory IT Professional approach to patient care and service delivery Strong teamwork skills and ability to work collaboratively with scientists, clinicians and pathologists Benefits of working at RMH: Be part of a supportive and values-driven workplace culture Career growth opportunities, ongoing training, and professional development Access to Health & Wellbeing programs including Fitness Passport, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), and Staff Peer Support Salary packaging, on-site car parking, and great public transport access To view the full position description please click APPLY Interested?
