About the role We have an opportunity for a Senior Systems Administrator (VMware SME) to be part of our Hosting Platform, Technology and Communication Services Command. The Senior Systems Administrator (VMware SME) is responsible for the planning, designing, supporting and maintaining the organisation's ICT systems and ensuring secure access and availability in accordance with the needs of the business. As the VMware Systems Administrator SME, you will be part of a team supporting NSW Police Force’s Virtualisation and Infrastructure. Your role collaborates with internal IT stakeholders within network, security, storage and applications teams and BAU support. You will provision, configure, manage, monitor and improve the VMware solution across virtual server platforms in on-prem data centres, remotely, and cloud. To support this role, we are looking for a candidate with: 5+ Years experience working in a large organisation supporting and maintaining physical/virtual Infrastructure hardware and software platforms Extensive experience and technical skills with VMware suite of products including vSphere ESXi and vCenter – versions 8 or VCF 9, vRealize suite, VROpManager, Vra, vRLogInsight, NSX‑T Extensive knowledge and technical skills with VCF (VMware Cloud Foundation) Extensive experience with Site Recovery Manager (SRM) and vSphere Replication Extensive knowledge and working experience with NSX Networking and DFW (Distributed Firewall) Understanding of Hybrid Cloud model vSAN and Dell servers experience desirable VMware Certification or proof of relevant training attendance Knowledge of ATP (Advanced Threat Protection) concepts.
