The Organisation Larrakia Nation Aboriginal Corporation (LNAC) is the peak advocacy and support agency for the Larrakia people, the traditional landowners of the Greater Darwin area. Initially established in 1998 to represent the Native Title interests of the Larrakia people, LNAC has since evolved into a vital service delivery organisation focussed on addressing the social, cultural and economic aspirations of the Larrakia people by initiating and administering programs, projects and services for the broader Aboriginal community. LNAC is a not-for-profit organisation, receiving the majority of its operating expenses from funding from the NT Government & Commonwealth Government. The Opportunity This is an Indigenous Identified position. Please do not apply if you do not identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. This role gives you the chance to make a meaningful difference for children, young people and families across the Greater Darwin region. As a Family Support Practitioner in the CaFIS program, you will support families to strengthen relationships, improve safety and wellbeing, and build confidence in their parenting. Responsibilities Work with families in their homes and community settings using a trauma informed and culturally respectful approach Provide practical support, coordinate services and advocate for children and young people Help families navigate complex systems and work through challenging situations Be part of a supportive team that values collaboration, learning and genuine care Manage a caseload from 5–8 families depending on complexity, with weekly contact expected Build your skills while contributing to positive outcomes for families and community Drive a growing program that is funded by the Department of Social Services Be part of a team that is expanding and strengthening its practice model Work in pairs for safety, support and shared decision-making About You You’re someone who cares about supporting children, young people and families to feel safe, strong and connected. You enjoy working with people, building trust and helping families work through challenges in a practical, respectful way. Qualifications and Fit Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander. Have experience working with children, young people or families, especially those facing complex situations Can build strong, respectful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families Feel confident having honest conversations and supporting people during tough moments Understand the importance of child safety and early intervention Can coordinate services and keep families engaged throughout the process Are organised, reliable and able to keep clear, accurate case notes Are comfortable working in homes and community settings Enjoy being part of a supportive team and open to learning along the way Your Reward A salary of $82,956.68 per year + superannuation + salary sacrifice to boost your take-home pay 5 weeks annual leave Vehicle for work use Phone and Laptop and Uniform provided for work use Stable employment with a well-respected Aboriginal-led organisation A supportive team environment where your wellbeing and professional growth are taken seriously Opportunities for ongoing training, supervision and development Next Steps If interstate, proof of Aboriginality may be requested.
