About the Role As a Mechanical Fitter at Ampcontrol, you’ll play a crucial role in the maintenance, overhaul and repair of underground mining equipment. This hands‑on role relies on technical skills, safety focus and attention to detail that directly support major mining projects. Key Responsibilities Carry out repairs, overhauls and maintenance of underground mining equipment with a focus on safety and quality. Interpret technical drawings and schematics accurately. Operate workshop machinery and hand tools safely and efficiently. Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless project delivery. Always uphold strong safety and quality assurance standards. What We Are Looking For Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter (Cert III or equivalent). Experience in heavy industrial, mining or manufacturing environments. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving ability. Ability to fault‑find and inspect equipment. Reliable transport and a Class C licence. Knowledge of machines such as Continuous Miners & Underground Shuttle Cars and their components. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and hydraulic schematics.
