PlusLife is an independent not‑for‑profit organisation striving to improve the mobility and wellbeing of patients of all ages. PlusLife (Perth Bone & Tissue Bank Inc.) located in Midland, is responsible for the retrieval, processing and banking of donated human bone and tissue for transplant purposes. Living donor program, involves patients undergoing elective total hip replacement who agree to donate their femoral head, which is removed as a routine part of their hip surgery. Cadaveric (deceased) donors, where the next of kin has consented to donation of bone and tissue after death. The Role PlusLife is seeking a full‑time Entry Level Production Technician that will join our Production team and will be responsible for the following: Receiving femoral head donations Prepare and participate in processing sessions Prepare and participate in cadaveric retrievals Documentation and record keeping Participation in on‑call roster, including attendance at after‑hours retrievals and preparation/collection of graft for out of hour transplant cases Maintaining stock levels Freezer cleaning and stock take Allocation, packing and receipt of unused graft material Once trained the successful candidate will work as part of a team of production technicians within a roster covering weekdays with on call and overtime to cover the service needs after hours. Skills & experience Completed tertiary education (TAFE or Bachelor level degree) Excellent organisational skills and ability to take initiative and prioritise tasks Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work effectively with limited supervision under broad direction and as part of a multi‑disciplinary team Willingness to learn all aspects of the organisation’s activities Experience in database management and word processing (Microsoft Office) Possess a current WA driver’s licence Awareness of TGA Code of Good Manufacturing Practice – Human Blood and Tissues or similar regulatory/compliance code Awareness of legislative and ethical issues related to organ and tissue donation Interest in science, and/or previous experience in a laboratory or nursing field Experience in laboratory and/or clean room role, including the application of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and health and safety requirements PlusLife can offer you: A flexible workplace striving to ensure a work/life balance 5 weeks annual leave 9‑day fortnight option Salary packaging opportunities Training opportunities and opportunities for promotion A great working environment Please include your CV/Resume as well as a short cover letter outlining your suitability for this role.
