ITI Australia is looking for a structural timber focused estimator / detailer to support our aggressive expansion plans at our Keysborough, Melbourne site. Growth will be driven on a foundation of exceptional customer relationships, a ‘make it happen’ attitude and supported by strong, forward thinking technical support. Distributing to timber merchants as well as frame & truss manufacturers; ITI Australia product range includes structural timbers, outdoor timber, decking and cladding products. We are seeking a mid to top-tier truss or frame detailer who is looking to advance their career by making the jump to wholesale with an innovative employer who will allow them to think and expand their problem-solving ability. The corner stone of the role will be detailing predominantly floors and some roofs using LVL, I-Joists and Glulam beams. Over time you will develop relationships with your key customers and builders to deliver on their needs and expectations. To be considered for this role you will need to be able to demonstrate most of the following, along with having the ability to learn and evolve. Responsibilities Develop detailed designs for Engineered Wood, ensuring compliance with structural standards. Produce construction layouts following Design Service Protocols. Provide over-the-phone technical support for staff and customers. Produce performance reports as requested (Quote Status, Customer Performance, Estimating Costs). Collaborating with architects, engineers, and stakeholders. To Be Successful Our ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, the ability to work autonomously as well as a part of a team. Qualifications Have experience using timber design and layout software. Strong plan reading ability of both structural and working drawings. Knowledge of the Australian timber code AS1684 Must be able to understand and determine roof and floor load paths. Autonomous work ethic and the ability to manage workloads. Be able to communicate to our customers, their builders and building surveyors regarding structural timber and design. Ability to follow instructions and adhere to administrative procedures.
