As our Credit Controller, you’ll play a key role in managing aged debtor reporting, maintaining accurate customer and financial data, and ensuring efficient collection of overdue payments—all while upholding positive customer relationships and regulatory compliance. As the Credit Controller, you will: Support debt collection processes through administration, reporting, and data analysis. Prepare and maintain daily aged trial balances, collection reports, and team performance dashboards. Analyse account data, payment histories, and trends to identify insights that improve collection performance, reduce overdue balances, and enhance cash flow. Manage relationships with third‑party mercantile agents, including referrals, reporting, commissions, and performance oversight. Action debt write‑offs in accordance with company policies and procedures. Proactively correct and cleanse data across CRM and billing systems. Provide overflow support for inbound and outbound calls and email communications within the Collections Team, including covering breaks and leave periods. This includes proactive follow‑up calls for overdue or at‑risk accounts. Collaborate with departments such as Legal, Finance, Billing, and Customer Operations to ensure smooth, professional, and compliant debt recovery processes. What you will bring to the role and Altogether: Demonstrated initiative, enthusiasm, and teamwork. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent organisational skills – you can juggle multiple priorities with ease. Proven experience in collections reporting, credit control, or a similar administrative role. Familiarity with the National Energy Industry or Utilities (preferred, but not essential). Strong problem‑solving abilities and a continuous improvement mindset. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) – intermediate or advanced Excel skills are essential.
