About the opportunity - Data Migration Lead Location: Melbourne This is a great opportunity to take ownership of one of the most critical streams in a major transformation program. We’re looking for a Data Migration Lead who can bring rigor, foresight, and leadership to ensure seamless migration of business-critical data. Key Responsibilities: Own the migration strategy: Accountable to the Head of Data for planning, execution, and reporting across the entire migration lifecycle. Challenge and validate: Review vendor migration plans, methodologies, and execution approaches to ensure robustness, scalability, and risk mitigation. Set the standards: Define and enforce best practices for data cleansing, validation, reconciliation, and transformation to guarantee accuracy and completeness. Collaborate and resolve: Work closely with Delivery teams, data owners, and external vendors to keep activities on track and resolve issues swiftly. Manage risk: Identify and escalation risks related to data privacy, compliance, and continuity to the Program RAID manager. Drive readiness: Oversee migration testing phases—mock runs, dry runs, and cutover planning—to minimise disruption and ensure success. Keep it transparent: Maintain clear documentation and provide regular updates to senior stakeholders and governance forums. Required skills and experience: Proven experience leading complex data migration programs in large-scale environments. Strong understanding of data governance, regulatory compliance, and risk management. Ability to challenge vendors constructively and influence outcomes. Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills. Hands‑on experience with migration testing and cutover planning. Why Join Us?
