The ASG (Application Service Group) within the New Accounts Department at Interactive Brokers Australia Pty. Ltd. (IBA) in Sydney provides high-quality client service to sophisticated retail clients, high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs), financial advisors, hedge fund operators, corporates, and other broker-dealers. The ASG supports client onboarding, account opening guidance, and builds long-term client relationships as part of our expanding global service offerings. Responsibilities Respond to inquiries and concerns from retail and institutional clients via in-person meetings, phone, email, and online messaging. Research and resolve a wide range of client questions related to the account opening process. Manage multiple tasks with emphasis on AML and KYC compliance while handling incoming client queries. Learn all aspects of the IBA brokerage platform and policies to offer compliant solutions addressing client concerns. Collaborate with Legal & Compliance, Developers, and Project Managers to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal procedures. Identify, analyze, and escalate complex issues as needed. Demonstrate excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Take personal responsibility for understanding client needs and delivering a high-value experience. Work efficiently and independently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Coordinate with New Accounts and Risk Assessment teams to evaluate financial crime risks. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree required. 2–3 years of experience in client service or financial services preferred. Motivated recent graduates with degrees in Finance, Law, Accounting, or Information Systems will also be considered. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Cantonese or Mandarin is a plus. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in brokerage or corporate banking preferred. Demonstrated ability to handle client concerns with professionalism and diplomacy. Strong research, investigative, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and firm initiatives simultaneously. Intermediate proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
