Policy and Project Officer

The Role: The team oversees national and state strategic priorities and initiatives, commissioning and funding, and service planning to implement whole-of system projects and reform, through research and policy development, project management and performance, monitoring and evaluation. Health Improvement and Partnerships within Public Health Services works closely with government agencies, consumer and family/carer organisations, the community sector, and organisations representing diverse communities, to reduce stigma and promote and raise public awareness of mental health issues, suicide prevention and alcohol and other drugs use in Tasmania.The team supports the delivery of suicide prevention and alcohol and drug services that are strongly consumer and carer focused, high quality, sustainable, accessible, inclusive, and safe. You will need Demonstrated high level knowledge of and experience in public policy analysis, development and implementation, strategic planning, research and evaluation. Demonstrated high level project management and organisational skills including the ability to formulate and manage complex and diverse projects, and demonstrated ability to meet agreed time, cost and quality outcomes. Demonstrated high level verbal and written skills with the ability to communicate, consult and liaise with a wide range of stakeholders, confidently and clearly convey ideas and information, prepare complex documentation including high level correspondence, submissions, project plans, briefings and reports, and negotiate differing opinions. Details of appointment: Permanent, full time, day worker position, working up to 76hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. *notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant. Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies. Salary: $107,899 to $122,292 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
