Join us in making a difference The Role The Senior Chef is responsible for ensuring Total Catering Solutions produces consistent high-quality products to both internal and external customers. Strong organisational skills and a wide spread knowledge of modern production/food manufacturing techniques are key to this position’s success. If you’re passionate about delivering quality meals and working in a supportive environment, we’d love to hear from you Join the team at Total Catering Solutions where you'll prepare high-quality meals in a supportive environment with a focus on food safety Key Responsibilities Effectively supervise the TCS production team, providing training and general support to staff, including settling in of new business and new menus with existing customers. Supporting production Manager with labour rostering and the daily supervision of the casual workforce is kept to minimum levels and fluctuates in line with the highs and lows of the business demands. Liaising with representatives from Amana Living to ensure the meal quality, quantity and specific diet requirements are reached and maintained. Work in conjunction with the TCS Production Manager and Quality team with regards to maintaining and improving the SGS HACCP accreditation. Have input in improving the Cbord management software package, improving the product quality by improving the recipes. Working closely with the TCS Production Manager with maintaining the TCS site and equipment in line with statutory regulations. Ensuring that a positive safety culture is instilled in all areas of TCS, and that safe work practices are consistently used across all operational areas. Demonstrated experience in the preparation, cooking and serving of meals in a similar environment Proven supervisory capabilities, working with a variety of both professional and unskilled staff, within a team orientated culture. Current trades certificate in Cookery (mandatory for the chef) Previous experience supervising a staffing of 30 – 35 in multiple areas. A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a supervisory / Management role within the food manufacturing industry. Valid Police Clearance no older than 6 months (or ability to obtain at interview stage) Demonstrated good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills Current knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health kitchen/food production environment Evidence of current Flu and Covid Vaccinations Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol test and reference checks Available to attend a compulsory 1-Day (Monday to Tuesday) induction at our Rivervale Training Institute How to apply If you are interested in this role and meet the essential criteria, please click the "apply now" button.
