Catering Assistant | Permanent Positions | Dunsborough and Busselton Catering Assistant & Kitchenhand Hospitality Roles | Permanent Part-Time Positions Location Busselton & Dunsborough facilities. About Us: Capecare Capecare is a not-for-profit organisation that has proudly provided Aged Care services in the Capes Region for over 60 years. We are currently seeking experienced and capable Permanent Part-Time Catering Assistants and Kitchenhands to join our dedicated teams in Busselton and Dunsborough. About the Role The Catering Assistant and Kitchenhand play a vital role in supporting the overall well‑being of residents by contributing to their dining experiences. They help create a welcoming atmosphere during mealtimes and work diligently to ensure that residents receive nourishing and enjoyable meals tailored to their individual needs. The ideal candidates will demonstrate a commitment to high standards of work while providing considerate, person‑centred care to our residents. Our shift times are Monday to Sunday: 7-1:30 pm and 4-7 pm. Permanent shifts are currently available Monday to Friday. Key Responsibilities Meal Preparation: Assist in the preparation of meals, which may include chopping vegetables, assembling salads, portioning food, and preparing simple dishes under the supervision of the Cook or Chef. Serving Meals: Help in serving meals to residents during mealtimes, ensuring that each resident receives the appropriate meal according to their dietary requirements. Dining Room Setup: Set up the dining areas before mealtimes, ensuring tables are clean, and all necessary items like cutlery, plates, and glasses are in place. Dishwashing and Cleaning: Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment, and maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen and dining area. May also help with cleaning kitchen surfaces and storage areas. Resident Interaction: Interact with residents in a friendly and courteous manner during mealtimes, addressing their needs and requests as appropriate. The Ideal Candidates Will Have Experience in Hospitality, Aged Care, Customer Service or Hospital environment or related field (ideal). Food Handling Certificate desirable but not essential. Experience with specific dietary needs desirable. Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team within a fast‑paced environment. A genuine passion for providing quality care to older Australians.
