Role Summary As an Applications Specialist, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-level technical support, driving cutting-edge product development, and ensuring customer‑centric solutions that consistently exceed expectations. Responsibilities Be the technical bridge between customers and engineering, translating challenges into actionable solutions. Support product innovation, working with Digital R&D to advance next‑gen Digital Products and reverse engineering initiatives. Ensure safety and compliance, aligning designs with legal requirements and "Safety in Design" principles. Validate digital products, conducting trials and performance evaluations in close collaboration with the sales team. Deliver insights, investigating market trends, customer pain points, and technical growth opportunities. Qualifications Strong technical acumen, Mechanical/Electrical trade qualifications. Ability to read and interpret engineering documents such as drawings, specifications, and CAD models. Customer‑first approach, ensuring technical support and solutions align with market needs. Collaboration mindset, working closely with the Engineering Team Lead and Product Manager to bring innovations to life. Analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to review and refine product designs for optimal performance. Attention to detail, ensuring high‑quality execution of engineering activities, from validation to product documentation. Qualifications in Mechatronics or Electrical engineering will be considered, but not mandatory; candidates who demonstrate relevant experience and a formal trade qualification are also welcome. Mining Experience (Excavators & Trucks) – Essential hands‑on experience working with excavators and haul trucks in a mining environment is a must. Location & Travel This role can be based in Brisbane or Newcastle and involves approximately one week of travel per month, primarily across Australia's East Coast.
