Associate Director, Taxation – 15M Fixed-Term Contract Zip Co (Sydney, New South Wales, Australia) This role brings you to Zip’s Finance function, where numbers tell powerful stories and every decision helps shape Zip’s growth across Australia and New Zealand. As our Associate Director, Taxation, you’ll lead Zip’s Australian tax compliance, governance and reporting, partnering closely with the Senior Director of Taxation. What You’ll Own Oversee end-to-end delivery of ANZ tax compliance and reporting, including consolidated income tax returns, disclosures and statutory reporting. Manage tax effect accounting and support ASX reporting requirements, ensuring governance processes are best‑in‑class. Act as trusted advisor to Finance, Audit and senior stakeholders, providing practical tax advice across corporate, employment and indirect taxes. Maintain and enhance documentation, compliance registers and risk management frameworks. Partner with external advisors and auditors to deliver high‑quality insights, lead process improvements and strengthen Zip’s tax governance culture. What You’ll Bring 15+ years post‑graduate taxation experience within large corporate or professional services environments. Experience working in financial services organisations. CA or CPA qualification, with deep knowledge of Australian corporate tax law, consolidations and ASX reporting standards. Proven experience in tax effect accounting, governance frameworks and managing advisor relationships. Exceptional analytical and communication skills, balancing strategic oversight and hands‑on delivery. Self‑motivated, organised and adaptable, with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence. A mindset that embraces AI and new tools to adapt, learn and grow.
