Art Director / Senior Designer - DarkLab DarkLab is searching for an experienced Art Director or Senior Designer who can both inspire and be inspired by others to embody DarkLab's dedication to design-driven thinking. The ideal candidate will have an innate eye for design and a drive to deliver distinctive, conceptual solutions that connect with any audience. In this role, you will be a pivotal member of our design team, collaborating closely with senior creatives to translate the DarkLab vision into high quality design solutions. You will set the design direction for all campaigns created for DarkLab’s family of brands, including Dark Mofo, In the Hanging Garden, Odeon, Altar, High Altar, and public art experiences, all of which offer a diverse canvas for your creativity. Your role will involve crafting a myriad of high-quality, functional, and innovative design executions across various media channels. Your work will not only reflect our commitment to creativity but also contribute to the unique and immersive experiences we offer to our audience. You'll have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects, collaborate with incredibly talented individuals, and make a significant impact on the world of music, art, and contemporary culture. The gig: As the senior member of our design team, you'll provide direction and mentorship to graphic designers, copywriters, and web developers. You will inspire and lead the team in the creation of outstanding design solutions that align with our creative strategy. You will be the guardian of our brand identities, ensuring consistency and excellence in all visual communications, collaborating closely with the marketing team to enhance our brands and bring them to life through compelling design. Utilise your advanced problem-solving capabilities to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement within our creative projects. You'll work closely with the Design + Content Director to shape the overall creative strategy. Bring your fantastic visual design skills to the table, consistently delivering high-quality work that pushes the boundaries of artistic and communicative media. Your expertise in typography and visual aesthetics will be invaluable in creating captivating campaigns. Lead and oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that they are executed to the highest standard and delivered on time and within budget. The you: Proven experience as an Art Director or a similar design leadership role. A deep passion for music, art, and contemporary culture. Outstanding visual design and typographic skills. Experience in digital campaigns and web design. Mastery of visual content creation, incl. planning and executing shoots for video + stills. Advanced problem-solving capabilities and strategic thinking. Excellent communication, presentation and team leadership skills. Proficiency in design software and tools.
