About The Role Liontown Resources is a pioneering force in Australia’s lithium mining industry, and we are looking for a Senior Work Health & Safety Advisor to join our Kathleen Valley operation. This is a permanent opportunity working an 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth. Reporting to our WHS Superintendent, you will provide strong leadership and subject‑matter expertise across all safety functions on site. This role will have a strong focus on supporting our Processing Plant teams and broader site services areas, ensuring safe and reliable operations as we continue through production ramp‑up. While you will collaborate with our underground mining teams, the primary WHS support to mining is provided by our mining contractor’s own WHS resources, meaning your core responsibility will centre on process plant, surface operations, maintenance, and site services. You will partner closely with operational leaders to drive a proactive safety culture, ensure compliance with WHS legislation, and embed critical risk and critical control management practices across these high‑exposure areas. Key Responsibilities: Safety Leadership: Drive continuous improvement and embed proactive, risk‑based safety practices across site. Critical Risk & Controls: Lead critical risk management and verify critical controls in the field. Regulatory SME: Provide expert guidance on WHS legislation, mining regulations, and compliance requirements. Risk Management: Conduct risk assessments, JHAs, Bowties and ensure effective control implementation. Incident Investigation: Lead ICAM investigations, identify root causes, and deliver sustainable actions. Training & Mentorship: Build safety capability through targeted training and coaching of site teams. Systems & Reporting: Improve INX and safety management system processes, reporting, and compliance. Field Presence: Maintain strong visibility across plant and site areas through inspections and verifications. About You 5–8 years of WHS experience, ideally within mining, processing, or heavy industry environments. Strong exposure to process plant operations; underground experience advantageous. Demonstrated capability in critical risk management and critical control verification. Recognised as an SME in WHS legislation, mining regulations, and compliance frameworks. Trade background beneficial. Cert IV TAE highly desired. Experienced in safety observations, inspections, investigations, and reporting. Proficient with Microsoft Office, INX, and safety management systems. Formal qualification in Occupational Health & Safety (Cert IV or Diploma minimum). ICAM Lead Investigator and Lead Auditor qualifications (desirable). Strong competency in auditing, inspections, performance standards, and statutory compliance. Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence, coach, and engage at all levels. Proven conflict resolution and consultation capability.
