If you’re looking for a rewarding next step in your clinical research career, we’d be delighted to hear from you Main duties of the job The post holder will manage and deliver high‑quality, patient‑focused clinical research across a portfolio of studies within the TBI‑REPORTER Project, including the 3P Study. They will identify and recruit eligible participants across critical care, emergency, ward and outpatient settings, ensuring studies are conducted in line with study protocols, ICH‑GCP and departmental policies to protect participant well‑being. They will provide specialist advice, education, and support to clinical and research staff, promoting best practice and integrating research into clinical care. Working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, the post holder will lead and develop the research nursing team, maintaining high standards of research delivery and patient care. Person Specification Qualifications Registered Nurse educated to Degree level or willingness to undertake Evidence of continuous professional development. Teaching qualification. Research Module. Masters Degree Health care management / leadership Experience Significant post registration experience working in the complex health care setting and ability to demonstrate expert nursing skills. Previous experience of nursing within a research environment Accept personal accountability for own practice. Experience of formal/informal teaching. Experience of working in clinical research environment Experience of leading and developing clinical research projects, (protocols and study documentation, REC/HRA submissions) Knowledge Understanding of evidence‑based practice. Understanding of Clinical Governance. Knowledge of clinical research infrastructure in the UK and relevant Research Governance legislation & regulations Understanding of the requirements of Good Clinical Practice & possession of GCP Certificate Knowledge of the role of the clinical research nurse and principles of informed consent for participation in research Knowledge of health research methodology Skills Good verbal and written communication skills. Clinical experience including phlebotomy Capable of working as an integral member of a small team. Adaptable to changing situations due workload and colleagues' needs. Ability to undertake teaching of staff and patients. Ability to work unsupervised and manage own workload; effective time‑management. Effective interpersonal skills. Commitment to multidisciplinary working. Demonstrate analytical and judgmental skills. Ability to quickly appraise situation and act accordingly Excellent interpersonal and communication skills: ability to develop good working relationships with diverse study participants, healthcare professionals and external agencies Competent in the use of standard PC packages (Windows, MS Excel, Access etc) Advanced communication skills. Ability to initiate own research Experience of using research databases Additional Requirements To act in a professional manner at all times in accordance with NMC Code of Conduct. Capable of developing liaisons with other practice areas/academic institutions. The ability to understand and behave at all times, towards patients, visitors and colleagues according to the Trust values of safe, kind, excellent. Knowledge of broader issues related to specialty - political and Trust.
