Position Description – Formwork Carpenter Ace Civil Pty Ltd is located in Regents Park, NSW. Founded in Sydney, Australia in 2018, ACE is a full-service early works contractor working in the construction industry. Services include Asbestos Removal, Demolition, Earthworks, Civil Works, Piling, Shoring Systems and Contaminated Site Management. Situated within the corporate structure of the Ace Group, the group is a large-scale employer in the building and construction industry and has management of numerous construction projects. We have experienced unprecedented growth in recent years which has created a number of employment opportunities. Key tasks and responsibilities of the role: examine drawings and specifications to determine material quantities; prepare preliminary sketches and ongoing work drawings; calculate costs and estimate time scales in accordance with work programs; acquire timbers and other materials and prepare site layouts; cut timbers and other materials and assemble and nail component parts; erect prepared frameworks and verify trueness of structures according to plans; assemble prepared wood to form structures ready for pouring concrete slabs; inspect work and materials for compliance with specifications; prepare, erect and repair framework, flooring and subflooring, internal and external walls and cladding; prepare and erect framework and formwork to civil structures, footings, slabs, trench drains, lift pits, culverts, pavements, etc; formwork erection and stripping; liaison with sub-contractors on company work sites. Key skills and experience required: AQF Certificate IV or AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or alternatively, three years of relevant experience may substitute for formal qualifications (with overseas obtained qualifications being considered where the qualification is assessed as suitable); One years of work experience in the occupation or three years where applicant relies on work experience in lieu of formal qualifications; Proficiency in the English language; Excellent communication – both written and verbal; Strong understanding of workplace WHS procedures. We currently have a number of vacancies for the position of Formwork Carpenter. The salary level on offer for the position is $85,000.00 per annum plus superannuation.
