Signal Processing Systems Engineer in Northam Initial 6-month contract (likely to extend) Onsite in Southampton (minimum of 3 days per week) £72.80ph, UMB, inside IR35 SC level Security Clearance must be in place prior to starting this contract. Due to the nature of work, this contract is only open to sole British. Our client, a leading entity in the Defence & Security sector, is currently seeking a Systems Engineer to join them on a contract basis in Southampton. Key Responsibilities Management of system requirements Feasibility studies to determine system architecture Modelling of communication system waveforms and networks Producing clear and concise technical documentation for your work Reporting to the Project Engineering Lead, providing updates on work package completion Collaborating with the waveform team on airborne communication projects to develop and deliver waveforms Managing your workload responsibly while displaying strong team working behaviours Engaging with customers and suppliers as necessary Job Requirements Experience in the development of military and/or civil communication systems Proficiency in communication system analysis, modelling, and simulation tools (MATLAB) Ability to produce detailed technical reports Graduate degree in relevant engineering, mathematics or related scientific discipline Knowledge of Communication Air Interface Protocols (including modulation and coding schemes) Understanding of mobile communications waveforms and networks Knowledge of RF communication system hardware implementation (such as transmitters, receivers, filters, software‑defined radio) Understanding of communications security (COMSEC) architectures Knowledge of digital modulation, channel coding (FEC), and filtering in the digital signal processing domain Ability to adapt mathematical algorithms for efficient FPGA implementation If you have the relevant skills and experience in systems engineering within the Defence & Security sector, we would love to hear from you.
