Senior Strategy Analyst

Overview Senior Strategy Analyst role at TPG Telecom . This role primarily supports the Consumer division’s strategy development, planning processes and market intelligence capability. Reporting to the Head of Strategy – Consumer, the position sits within the Consumer Strategy team which supports the Consumer Leadership team. The Consumer division is the largest business unit within TPG, contributing >80% of Group revenue. What You’ll Do Market intelligence: responsible for market and competitor intelligence within the TPG Consumer business, including lead analysis on competitor performance and preparing comparative summaries for the TPG Telecom ELT and SLT. Lead half-yearly market update presentations to teams across TPG Telecom. Act as subject matter expert on developments in the Telco market (Australia and globally) and relay insights to relevant product/sales teams. Collaborate with the Corporate Strategy team to maintain and update market models. Partner with Consumer Mobile and Fixed product teams to produce second-order insights using all available market information. Business Unit Strategy Key role in developing Consumer’s overall business unit strategy. Lead internal consulting engagements to support teams within the Consumer business. Work with the Consumer Leadership team to coordinate strategy across product, customer lifecycle management, sales and marketing. Prepare strategy papers for the TPG Telecom Board and presentations to communicate strategy to the wider consumer team and across TPG Telecom. Question existing thought patterns and stimulate new strategic thinking. Strategic Planning Support quarterly business reviews and the annual budget process for Consumer. Provide analysis to support major transformation projects. Work closely with finance business partners and other senior stakeholders to enable an effective planning process. Support monthly board reporting. What You’ll Bring 3 to 5 years’ experience in an in-house strategy team, consulting firm or investment bank. Top-class commerce, finance or economic degree from a leading university. Strong attention to detail and high degree of accuracy in numerical analysis and written communication. Commercial and financial acumen and ability to model and articulate the financial impact of strategic initiatives or opportunities. Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and operate with ambiguity. Strong communication skills; able to present complex information clearly to senior stakeholders. Presentation skills to convey financial and non-financial information confidently. Industry analysis: ability to synthesize large volumes of external research into digestible summaries and actions. Self-driven, independent worker who can also collaborate effectively. Ideally, You Will Also Have Telco market experience. Ability to test hypotheses with limited data and think creatively. Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills. Experience presenting to medium-large audiences. Strong interest in the telecommunications sector and ability to lead cross-functional strategic projects.
