Location: Melbourne, Sydney, Perth or Adelaide About the Role The BIM Lead is responsible for the effective and consistent use of CAD and BIM systems across all Australian offices. The role ensures high-quality, efficient documentation in line with industry best practices and supports Meinhardt’s reputation as a leader in CAD/BIM within the construction industry. This is a hands‑on position, combining leadership with active project delivery. Key Responsibilities The BIM Lead plays a pivotal role in ensuring high-quality documentation, technical excellence, and operational efficiency across all projects. Key responsibilities include: General Operations & Technical Capability Support all disciplines to deliver consistent, high-quality documentation. Coordinate work across services in real-time and provide technical advice where needed. Assist with BIM/Digital Leads coordination to improve organisational efficiency in budgeting and resourcing. Undertake additional tasks as required to meet company goals. Knowledge Management Share project and organisational knowledge to build team capability. Coach and mentor team members, encouraging knowledge sharing and learning. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant technologies, standards, techniques, and legislation. Integrated Management System (IMS) Ensure documentation meets IMS standards and organisational requirements. Drive and implement continuous improvement initiatives. Actively participate in occupational health, safety, and environmental compliance programs. Promote safe work practices and report hazards or incidents promptly. Professional Development Attend approved seminars, courses, and in-house training to enhance professional and personal skills. General Maintain accurate daily timesheets in accordance with company procedures. Deliver high-quality client service for internal and external stakeholders. Contribute innovative solutions to project and client challenges. Identify and implement process improvements, tools, and standards to support continuous improvement across the organization. Skills & Experience The ideal candidate will demonstrate extensive technical expertise, leadership ability, and strong interpersonal skills to manage projects and teams effectively. Technical Skills & Knowledge: Proficient knowledge and practical experience with BIM , Revit MEP , and AutoCAD (minimum 10 years total BIM documentation experience). Ability to use common business software applications efficiently. Strong project management skills, including workload management, quality control, and meeting deadlines in a fast‑paced environment. Qualifications & Experience: Advanced Diploma, Diploma, or Certificate in an engineering-related discipline is desirable, or substantial relevant industry experience (minimum 10 years). Leadership & Personal Attributes: Proven leadership in managing projects from inception to completion and supervising small teams. Ability to motivate staff, foster teamwork, and maximise efficiency. High attention to detail and pride in quality of work. Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and high-level interpersonal skills. Ability to maintain composure under pressure, adapt to changing circumstances, and provide innovative solutions. Professional integrity and ethical behaviour when dealing with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders. Flexible, personable, and constructive attitude with a focus on collaboration and continuous improvement. Commitment to professional development and maintaining up-to-date technical knowledge.
