This position will help drive meaningful reform that supports better care for WA children and families. Position Profile The Child and Adolescent Health Service (CAHS) is seeking an experienced Senior Finance and Business Officer to join our Resource Management team. The role will support financial sustainability, coordinate business planning activities, and help service areas achieve their financial and operational goals. Reporting to the Director Resource Management, you will work closely with stakeholders across CAHS – including Finance, Infrastructure, Digital Health, Workforce teams, service areas, and external bodies – to ensure alignment, compliance, and informed decision-making across three key areas : Overseeing business planning and performance – Supporting service areas through the budget process, contributing to service planning and decision-making, identifying, developing, testing, and evaluating reform opportunities that improve service efficiency and productivity, analysing performance indicators, tracking and reporting outcomes, and providing regular updates to support reporting to the Finance Committee. Business case development – Working with service areas, the Finance Committee, and the Department of Health to prioritise investment needs, coordinating end-to-end business case development, including prioritisation frameworks and financial tables, and coordinating submissions to Treasury. Financial and business reform – Leading the identification, coordination, and implementation of financial and business reform initiatives, providing expert guidance within the Finance team on financial reform matters, including the review of internal policies and guidance documents. Key Responsibilities Providing high-level business management advice to the Director Resource Management and departments across CAHS. Supporting the Executive Director, Finance and Corporate in finance operations, including reporting, accounting, policy, audit, and budget development. Supporting CAHS service areas to monitor budgets, track efficiencies, report outcomes, and respond to financial queries from the Department of Health and Treasury. Preparing and presenting reports, papers, and recommendations to Finance Committees and senior executives. Managing key information systems to ensure managers have timely and accurate data to support service, workforce, and financial decisions. Supporting reform and system improvements, such as adoption of new accounting standards. Qualifications & Experience We are seeking a collaborative, detail-focused professional with strong relationship-building skills. Experience in business planning, budgeting, financial modelling, and knowledge of quality improvement and risk management principles are highly desirable.
