Senior to Principal Geotechnical or Geological Engineer (Tailings)Brisbane, Australia-based role with opportunities to travel to international offices and work on projects worldwide. BGC is seeking a Senior to Principal Geotechnical or Geological Engineer with experience in tailings management and tailings dam site investigation, design, analysis and construction support. The role involves leading tasks related to earth dam design and construction within a multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities Act as a project engineer and technical lead for tailings projects Train, mentor, and supervise the work of junior and intermediate staff Manage projects, including budgeting, scheduling, staffing, and scope Author and co-author reports Participate in business development, including identifying new opportunities, promoting BGC's capacity for undertaking innovative and advanced technical projects, and proposal writing Organize and supervise field programs, including site investigation, construction, and dam safety inspections Work with client representatives Help promote BGC's vision, values, and culture amongst BGC staff and clients Travel as required, which could include extended shifts at remote sites Required Education, Experience & Competencies Undergraduate degree in Civil or Geological Engineering. Post-graduate degree is an asset. Years of relevant work experience Registered (or eligible for registration) as an RPEQ Experience in tailings management Experience in tailings dam site investigation, design, or construction support Experience working within Australia's regulatory and geological landscape Excellent communication skills Position Requirements Drug & Alcohol Testing: To ensure we meet our client's compliance requirements and our workplace health and safety commitments, BGC has a drug and alcohol policy that applies to this position. This testing could be requested within an employee's first week or in the future, as required. Driver's License: BGC requires employees to hold a valid, full driver's license in the jurisdiction where they will be employed. A Traffic History Report must be submitted upon hire. Employees must be able to drive a field pick-up truck. Employees are required to complete BGC Driver Training and a Driver Assessment.
