About the role In collaboration with key stakeholders, the Consultant, Deakin Transformation will take a proactive approach to identify and support the development of solutions to lead organisational change and optimisation projects to achieve a more sustainable, efficient and improved university. The role also provides high‑level administrative and coordination support to the division leaders, liaising across teams and stakeholders to support the effective delivery of Deakin’s people‑focused initiatives. As a Consultant, Deakin Transformation, you will: Plan, coordinate and implement change programs and initiatives. Apply strategies and frameworks to foster a positive, inclusive, and values‑led workplace culture, encouraging active contribution and collaboration. Use analytical methods to understand university context and develop practical, high‑impact solutions that support performance objectives. Apply organisation design frameworks and process to support improvements in organisational effectiveness. Develop and provide the necessary documentation and reporting to support the management and coordination of the program and/or project. Use understanding of the target audience to structure and shape communication to meet their information needs or concerns and anticipate and prepare for the audience’s reactions and questions. Continually evaluate progress and re‑prioritise work based on changing needs and strive for excellence and effectively overcome barriers to achieve outcomes. Promote teamwork across functions to support the achievement of goals and set a positive example of achievement and inspire others to succeed with ethics. To be successful, you’ll have: Postgraduate qualifications or progress towards postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience; or Extensive experience and management expertise; or An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training. Experience in implementing change or transformation programs in a large, complex organisation. Proven ability to communicate effectively with different audiences, including senior leaders, through tailored advice, presentations and written materials. Demonstrated capability in managing multiple priorities, with strong project coordination, planning and reporting skills.
