Location: Dubbo, Western NSW with some travel around surrounding towns Full-time or part-time (to July 2026, with possible extension) Base hourly rate: $51.78 - $54.95 + super + salary packaging + leave entitlements. About the role As a Family Preservation Case Worker, you’ll be walking alongside families for up to 12 months, working directly in their homes at least once a week. You’ll assess risk, build trust, and co‑develop meaningful case plans to help families stay together safely. Many of the families you’ll support are navigating challenges like child protection involvement, domestic and family violence, mental health, and neglect. Using the Wraparound service model, you’ll coordinate support in partnership with other services and connect families with parenting programs and practical tools to strengthen relationships and resilience. Role responsibilities Conduct regular in‑home visits and deliver intensive, therapeutic case management. Complete thorough safety and risk assessments, and write clear, professional reports. Create case plans that consider parenting capacity, child development, and family context. Collaborate with colleagues and external agencies through joint home visits, community events, and group supervision. Maintain high‑quality records that inform service delivery and support accountability. About you You’re someone who is confident walking into complex situations and has the emotional intelligence to connect with the whole family – children, parents, carers – and help them feel seen and supported. You have a solid understanding of child protection frameworks and know how to identify and respond to risk. A relevant tertiary qualification (or working towards one) in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field. Experience supporting families with complex needs, ideally in home‑based or outreach roles. Strong written skills and the ability to analyse and report on risk, safety, and progress. Great time management and decision‑making under pressure. A valid driver’s licence and WWCC, and willingness to travel as needed. Cultural competence and a commitment to working respectfully with Aboriginal communities. Teamwork – we value people who collaborate, share learning and show up for others. Why Uniting? Base hourly rate of $51.78 + super + leave entitlements. Salary packaging to increase your take‑home pay. Flexibility – choose full‑time or part‑time to suit your lifestyle. Supportive team culture, regular supervision, and a strong focus on worker wellbeing. Fitness Passport, URewards and career development opportunities. Work that’s challenging, real, and deeply rewarding. For inquiries, please contact Alex Sullivan from Uniting’s Talent Acquisition Team at *** or *********@uniting.org .
